Jewellery is synonymous with the body and speaks to presence. This relational condition is activated through being worn, carried, held close and endures when displayed off the body. In this way, it can be argued that jewellery objects are not passive possessions but active accomplices that will inevitably carry memory, affect, and relational charge.

We cannot know the full story of the objects we encounter, but what people perceive and interact with has a solid, tangible existence outside of their personal, subjective interpretations. Even if we might only witness it as a trace, at best. Every aesthetic trace, every footprint of an object sparkles with absence. It’s almost magical when you start to think about a new, elusive and ephemeral phenomenological dimension that opens up beyond the fallible. It is liminal and potent.
